Features & Fixes Details

Two-Factor Authentication for OpsAdmin Users: SMS Method and per user configuration.

For this feature to work, users must have a phone number set up and this phone number cannot be duplicated. When 2FA is enabled, OpsAdmin verifies that the phone number is unique for that user in particular. When choosing this method, the system gives the user the possibility of sending a verification SMS to the provided phone number.

To configure SMS delivery first configure the SMS account in System Setup. Currently Twilio is the only supported provider, but others may be added in the future.

This configuration does not enable 2FA via SMS, only enables the possibility of sending SMS from OpsAdmin. To enable 2FA via SMS also set the Available Two Factor Authentication Methods option in System Setup to SMS or Both.

Also, up to this point 2FA could be toggled as company policy, meaning that only an admin with access to the user manager had the ability to toggle 2FA for each user. With this release there is a new role that can be assigned to users to allow them decide if they want to use 2FA or not. The new role User Account -> Allow toggling Two Factor Authentication enables the option to toggle 2FA in the user account menu.

Added user information to the account menu

The Change Password option has been renamed to View Account. Now this screen will also show some basic user information, besides allowing changing the logged user password.
